The lightly raced BELLS OF STAMFORD won with plenty up his sleeve at Warwick last month and a 7lb rise for that looks unlikely to stop him going close again despite how competitive this looks. He has only had the 3 starts over fences so there should be a fair bit more to come yet. He won despite making quite a bad mistake last time and if jumping more fluently they might not see which way he goes. Discko Des Plages fell at Uttoxeter and then unseated last time so arrives with a bit to prove but he has won off a higher mark than this in the past. Kingcormac won easily at Hereford but then pulled up at Ffos Las so also looks to have enough to prove despite still being off a workable mark. Valirann Gold was rewarded for bold front running tactics here on penultimate start but then failed to live up to market expectation at Hereford and needs to get back on track to have a chance in this.
