FREEDOM FALLS showed promise as a juvenile and handled soft ground well on a couple of occasions at the Curragh including when runner-up over this trip to Lord Massusus. Run Ran Run went close on debut when beating all bar Tooprofitable in a soft ground Curragh maiden and is one for the shortlist along with Desert Haven and Red Letter Bray. First Gentleman is a half-brother to Flotus who handled soft ground when third in the Flying Five last autumn, while Windsor Road is another newcomer to note in the market being a half-sister to three winners notably the Tyros Stakes victor Exogenesis.

HALF NUTZ won three times over this C&D for Sheila Lavery all with cut in the ground and recorded a sixth career win in trademark style for Johnny Murtagh last year when travelling well from off the pace to score at the Curragh. He's joined Ado McGuinness over the winter and should be spot on for this following a recent run at Dundalk. Sounds Of Spring has gained all three wins on soft ground in the autumn but did finish third in this race two years ago. Magical Vision has obviously had training issues but made up for lost time when scoring twice over five furlongs on heavy ground last backend including at this venue. Shoebox King and Independent Expert are others to note.

Very little soft ground form to go on here so it's something of a guessing game as to who will handle the testing conditions. LISIEUX won a nursery here over six furlongs on soft ground last autumn and has mainly been campaigned on the all-weather at Dundalk since. She was beaten about three lengths by Not Too Real Bad over this trip on the polytrack in January and may reverse the placings on this surface. Bonny Power won a Dundalk maiden over this trip last month and has a useful 7lb claimer booked, while Senado Square was runner-up on his handicap debut at Dundalk last month but struggled previously on testing ground. Bang Po showed promise last time at the Curragh and any market support would be interesting.

VOCAL STUDIES sent Kevin Manning out on a winner when taking a Galway maiden in good style over this trip last autumn. The Jim Bolger-trained gelding has been tried over varying distances and still appears on a reasonable mark. Spanish Tenor has gained most of his six career wins with plenty of cut in the ground including over this trip at Gowran last year. He's dropping back down to an attractive mark, while Laughifuwant has a similar profile having won the Cambridgeshire at the Curragh on soft ground a few seasons back. Plunkett is suited by this ground and trip, while Loingseoir and Mary Salome also handle conditions well.

PANIC ALARM progressed nicely in four outings last year returning from a summer break to score twice over this trip. The selection still showed signs of greenness when landing a valuable Auction Series Final over C&D last October. He handles soft ground and may have further scope for improvement. Riding arrangements suggest Paddington is preferred of Aidan O'Brien's pair and the Siyouni colt took a nice step forward from his debut when readily landing a Curragh maiden on soft ground last backend. Basil Martini was beaten a number of times in maidens before winning the Group 3 Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh. Imadpour and Trachonitus are both proven on the ground.

VISUALISATION enjoyed a fruitful campaign on soft ground in 2021 winning four times including a valuable handicap at the Curragh and a Listed race at Listowel. He was beaten less than two lengths when third in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes last spring and should have conditions to suit here if fit enough after a nine-month absence. Self Belief got up close home to land the Listed Trigo Stakes over this trip at Leopardstown last autumn but is set to give weight all-round as a result, while Martinstown won a maiden at Gowran last May that has worked out very well since. The Galileo colt hasn't been seen since that debut success and it will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market. Sunchart likes soft ground and is fit from hurdling.

RED RIDING HOOD is certainly bred in the purple being by US Triple Crown winner Justify and out of the Group 1 filly Ballydoyle who has already produced the Listed winner Monday. She made a promising debut when staying on into second over this trip at Ascot last September and should progress with that experience under her belt. Emotivo shaped well in two outings at Dundalk, while the market should provide some guidance as to the relative merits of the newcomers. The selection's stablemate Jackie Oh is also impeccably bred being a sister to US Grade 1 winner Line Of Duty, while Paris Review cost 85,000 guineas as a yearling and is out of a 1m4f winner in France.

SERIOUS CHALLENGE is top rated here and this looks a nice opportunity for him on his seasonal debut. The Fracas gelding won a Galway maiden in soft ground last summer, beating a decent sort in Hiawatha. He showed up well for a long way before finishing fourth to Auguste Rodin in Group 2 company on Irish Champions Weekend and looks worthy of his rating of 102. Zoinnocent is rated 5lb inferior to the selection and has to be a big danger here getting 5lb with Hugh Horgan also taking 7lb off her back. She was runner-up in the Group 3 Silver Flash Stakes last season and but it would be a slight concern that all her form was on better ground. Sprewell is a potential improver after a couple of nice maiden runs last season and could pick up minor money.
