Given BOLD AS LOVE holds a 1000 Guineas entry connections will be hopeful she can make a winning return at Leopardstown on Sunday. This Deep Impact filly made a highly encouraging start finishing runner-up to Tarawa on debut over 7f here back in October. She looked as though she’d improve significantly for the experience and given plenty of time since we should see an even better performance here. She sets a good standard and with more to come should open her account. It will be interesting to see how they ride her as I think she might be switched off early before looking to swoop late. Toistiun could be the danger for Jim Bolger. She ran well without threatening to finish third on debut at the Curragh last week and will be more streetwise now. Warm Heart needs to improve on that debut at Dundalk but she will enjoy going up in trip.

New Bay colt OVERRULE was impressive when last seen at Redcar bossing the opposition and making all the running. That came in deep testing ground so conditions will be no issue to him here and despite carrying the penalty I think he can follow up. He cost 100,000 guineas as a yearling and he clearly possesses a fair bit of potential. Striking Star is also well bred and he made a bright start winning on debut at Sandown. He blew out in deep ground in the Horris Hill at Newbury on final start and has a bit to prove off the back of that. He could still be the danger but he will likely be short enough for this and I’d want to see him run again before I could back him. Theoryofeverything is another expensive purchase who is likely to do well this season but unless the market speaks for him I think he might come on for the experience.
