This may well prove a maiden to watch back a few times as there could be quite a few promising types in here but I am keen on BLEAK going close. This Highland Reel colt certainly wasn’t disgraced on debut finishing a promising fifth at Newcastle last month and now switched to turf there could be lots more to come. That race has already started to work out with the second Elim winning eased down at Newcastle next time out so that is obviously encouraging. He is expected to be a lot more streetwise now and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t get involved. Hard to pinpoint an exact danger as it will depend on who improves the most but Military Tycoon caught the eye to some extent when fourth on debut but he has already been gelded so perhaps his potential is capped.

Another maiden that will likely produce plenty of winners going forward and Galileo colt FARNBOROUGH may well prove to be the most promising of them. He clearly took a bit of time to come to hand starting out in a Naas maiden in September and was slowly away and could never land a blow on that occasion. It was good to see him take a notable step forward when a close second to stablemate Carracci at Dundalk on final start though and given time since he could be a nice type this season. He is obviously open to plenty of improvement and it will be interesting to see what the betting makes of him. The yard also saddle Canute who could turn out the be the biggest danger. He also showed plenty when fourth at the Curragh on debut and likely has a bright future too.
