GYTO Saturday Notebook Double

It was hard to knock AUTUMN FESTIVAL last year and he made it 5 wins in a row to cap off the season over this track and trip back in October. He only won by small margins the last 3 times so the handicapper couldn’t put him up too much and off just a 3lb higher mark here if he improves again he is going to have a big say on return. He is tough and likeable and if Tudhope gets him into a good rhythm then he will be hard to pass late on. Gweedore goes well here and has the talented Billy Loughnane booked claiming 5lb. He was third behind the selection when last seen and is slightly better off at the weights so looks the danger. Of the rest The Gatekeeper has fitness on side and might run a big race as well.

I have had my eye on FARMER’S GAMBLE for a while and it was good to see him win so impressively at Exeter last time. He scooted in by 14 lengths so a 9lb rise looks to be fully warranted. He has more to come and I think he should follow up here despite this being a much tougher race. Hyland was an excellent second to Emitom at Newbury last time and if building on that could be the biggest danger. The Changing Man ran well behind Apple Rock and Itchy Feet and certainly wasn’t disgraced at Cheltenham so also enters calculations. Docpickedme also deserves a mention as he has won his last two and pretty convincingly too but up another 6lb the handicapper certainly applies some more pressure now.
