He was given a patient ride on stable debut the last day and despite mistakes made relentless headway under Jamie Moore. He took it up with thre to jump and seemed to find another gear before being left clear. He was going best at the time though and almost certainly had the race in the bag.

He remains lightly raced for his age especially over fences so an 8lb rise wouldn’t worry me too much as I think he can improve again. Eros often gives his running and was an agonising second at Warwick three weeks ago probably losing the race with a bad jump at the last. He is 2lb higher but should be bang there again. Investment Manager could also threaten but has plenty to prove having pulled up at Ffos Las when last seen.
