This might not take a great deal of winning so last time out winner SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH could follow up. She seemed to relish the softer ground at Thirsk last time and really hit the line hard. If Coconut Bay puts good pace to the race I think they will apply similar tactics holding her up off the speed and with rain due the more that comes the better. She carries a penalty but remains unexposed and really should be going close in a race that clearly lacks strength in depth. Scottish Wind wasn’t running too well over hurdles when last seen but his form on the Flat before that was creditable and he is still lightly raced so no surprise if he was the danger. Glory And Honour has won over C&D and while he is out of form this does look a little easier so he must also enter calculations.

Havana Grey filly ANNIE LAW looks a strong play here for James Fanshawe. She caught the eye doing some good late work behind The X O at Southwell back in January and duly improved to make a winning handicap debut over track and trip last time. She got caught wide there too but relished the step up in trip and came through strongly late to beat a good yardstick in All Dunn. She is up 7lb but obviously remains unexposed over the trip and should keep improving for a while yet so I don’t think the assessor has a handle on her. The form has been franked since with the second, third and fourth all winning and I expect her to be well backed for this. Topo Chico only missed narrowly last time and gets first-time cheekpieces now so is the most likely danger in opposition.
