It was great to see Tyneside regular BROCTUNE RED back to his best winning head in chest over a mile and a quarter at the start of the month. He travelled like a dream and took it up with a couple of furlongs to run before doing it easily by 6 lengths. He is turned out quickly under a penalty but with the drop back to a mile firmly in his favour I am surprised he is as big as 4/1 as I can’t see how he doesn’t go close with Aiden Brookes claiming 5lb again. Ron O also arrives in winning form having scored over 7f here last time and looks the danger if handling going back up to a mile. He also carries a penalty and the pair look set to fight this one out. Streak Lightning went close over 6f before winning over 7f here last time and up 4lb also enters calculations but he is more of a speedy type so might be vulnerable in the closing stages.
