I know we haven’t seen AL BAREZ for nearly a year now but this colt clearly possesses a lot of potential and given he won fresh last season he may well be up to defying the absence. He made light work of an opening mark of 84 at Doncaster and back down to the minimum here off just a 3lb higher mark I expect him to bring up the four-timer. He could be targeted at some decent pots down the line if winning this well so fingers crossed. The betting will be worth keeping a close eye on and if it is strong on him come post time that would make me even more confident about his chance. Dream Composer is plenty talented and has to be feared here. The drying ground will be in his favour and he could be the danger. Ey Up It’s Maggie is better than what she showed last time so is also respected.

The way WRITTEN BROADCAST hit the line over C&D last time suggests he is still well handicapped off a mark of 58. Mark Winn claims 5lb here so he is actually better off. He was slowly into stride the last day so had to work hard to get within touching distance before really hitting top gear late. The winners had flown but it was an eye-catching run in defeat, nearest finish. He clearly goes very well at this track with course figures of 622125233 this season and if a busy spell doesn’t catch up with him he will be bang there at the finish. Northbound got his head back in front over track and trip last time and the runner-up One More Dream won next time out to frank the form so he looks the danger up just 2lb. Mashaan is on a losing run but his old form would definitely give him a chance against these.
