It was tough conditions but I loved the way SUGARPIEHONEYBUNCH came through to win again at Catterick last time. She was given a confident ride well off the pace by Aidan Brookes but made relentless headway and was always getting on top in the closing stages. She is turned out quickly under a 5lb penalty and may well face slightly different ground conditions but she is improving and at this lowly level I think she can complete the hat-trick.

Both Ready To Shine and Yorkindness like to go forward so there should be plenty of pace on which will help the selection as the harder they go the better for her finishing kick. Two Brothers ran well when fourth at Doncaster on return and if he builds on that racing off the same mark then he will emerge as the biggest danger.

Another race with plenty of potential lining up but I’m keen to side with the 1000 Guineas entered LUDMILLA for John and Thady Gosden. This Kingman filly only went down a neck on debut here over 7f. She ran green that day and eventually consented to running on without quite knowing what was required. She is likely to have improved plenty over the winter and it would be no surprise to see her a lot sharper now and make a winning return.

Mubhijah has more experience on side than most and that could serve her well but she is quite a small filly who might not be open to as much improvement as most. Silver Lady looks the most interesting of the debutants being by Sea The Stars and the market should prove informative to her chance for in-form trainer Charlie Appleby.
