GYTO Thursday Notebook Double pays 12/1.

There are potentially some very nice colts lining up for this and I have been looking forward to seeing LIBERTY LANE out again for Karl Burke. This Teofilo colt bolted up by five lengths on debut at Nottingham towards the end of last season and that visual impression was backed up by the clock too. He really streaked clear late and definitely falls into the ‘could be anything’ category for now.
He holds plenty of fancy entries and I think connections will be hopeful he can remain unbeaten here. Quite a few could improve to emerge as the danger but the market might have it spot on with Majestic Warrior. He won despite running green on debut at Wolverhampton. He ran away from the whip when asked to settle it before hitting the line hard and has a bright enough future as well.

Wreck It Ryley has finished runner-up the last three times now and while he has to be respected he may well be bumping into one again here in the shape of PURPLE MARTINI. The latter is a likeable filly who ran well without threatening in a couple of handicaps at Pontefract before improving on return to win impressively at Redcar last time. She showed a smart turn of foot on that occasion and was well on top at the line.
She is lightly raced so should go on improving for a while yet and despite carrying a penalty is comfortably the most likely winner for me so 5/2 is very appealing. The first-time cheekpieces did the trick for Havana Rum at Newcastle and he could go well but a 9lb rise demands more on reappearance. Jack Of Clubs makes his handicap debut and is another one to note.
