GYTO's Tuesday Notebook Double pays 8/1.

Sent off at 80/1, 100/1 and 300/1 on his first 3 starts perhaps it was no great surprise to see ALPHA CRUCIS improve at odds of just 7/1 tackling a mile for the first time on handicap debut at Windsor. This son of Australia looked well suited by the softer ground and ran on well to win convincingly. He is turned out quickly under a 6lb penalty but is obviously open to plenty of improvement and I’m confident he can follow up here. He hit the front soon enough last time so it was a good effort to keep galloping all the way through the line. He never looked like coming back to them in the closing stages and was well on top at the finish still changing his legs crossing the line. Expressionless is the only other last time out winner in the field and he could be the danger off the back of that Nottingham win but has gone up 5lb and he’ll need to get away on terms.

Night Of Thunder 3yo BALLYMORE VISION could be ready to strike on return for Richard Hannon. He only had one start as a 2yo and tried to make all at Newmarket before coming back to them inside the final furlong to finish fifth. He is likely to have improved plenty over the winter and retains plenty of potential for this season. This isn’t a strong race by any means and given his breeding it’ll be disappointing if he doesn’t get seriously competitive now. Eden Storm didn’t shape badly behind Zoology at Southwell last time and is probably the danger if improving on that. Wall Game has already had a couple of starts and left his debut run behind to finish third at Kempton. He was still beaten nearly 6 lengths though so is going to need to step forward again to get competitive here. Nine Six Five is another one that will likely do better in time.
