Following a 11/4 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with two tips from today's racing action.
14:20 Brighton
This looks a weak 0-55 handicap and I am willing to take a chance on the Jonny Portman trained SISTER OF THOR (best priced at 13/2) on her handicap debut. The three-year-old showed ability in her first three runs when finishing 6th, 5th and 8th on the AW over a mile in maiden/novice races.
On pedigree she should appreciate this step up in trip to 1m4f on her handicap and an opening mark of 53 could underestimate her. Steven Seagull sets the standard based on his 2nd placed finish at Chelmsford last time but I expect Sister Of Thor to improve past him.
19:10 Wolverhampton
Horses who have left Chris Wall and joined other yards since have had a good record on their stable debuts and I am hoping SAVROLA (best priced at 9/2) can continue that trend. Savrola has joined the in-form James Ferguson stable who are currently operating at a 33% strike rate (3-9 in the previous two weeks) and he had shown good form last season.
Savrola won on his handicap debut at Haydock off a mark of 72 before finishing 2nd at both Windsor and Newmarket off marks of 74 and 76. He makes his reappearance off a mark of 77 and he should prove hard to beat.
