Charlie Appleby won this last year with Noble Truth and he will be hopeful again with the improving MAJESTIC PRIDE who could be another Group horse in waiting. He is arguably unlucky not to be unbeaten after running green on debut bumping into a horse who already had a run under his belt. He has won both starts since impressing at Chelmsford as a 2yo despite taking a keen hold and then winning narrowly on return over C&D last month. He should be a lot sharper for the run and while this is tougher he remains very much unexposed and I think connections are pretty bullish. Shouldvebeenaring returned with a win and has held his form well the last twice so with the extra furlong here looks the danger. Iconic Moment saw his winning run end last time but must also enter calculations.

I have been waiting for Ger Lyons to run MAUIEWOWIE again as she looked a really promising 2yo winning 2 of her 3 starts despite not looking the finished article. I remember when the market couldn’t have her beat at Naas but she subsequently bumped into a Group horse in the shape of Lady Hollywood. She was quickly back on track showing a great attitude to get back up in a Listed race at the Curragh. I expect her to have improved plenty over the winter and she could be a nice filly to go to war with this season. Ger Lyons won this with Sacred Bridge last season so he usually targets a good one at it. Treasure Trove who was a short head behind the selection at the Curragh went on to win her next two before finding the Cheveley Park too hot to handle. She looks the danger along with Basil Martini.
