GYTO's Monday Notebook Double pays 9/1.

The step back up to 6f could be the key to ROCK MELODY at Ayr on Monday. She has run really well in defeat over the minimum trip since joining Jim Goldie and could be ready to strike now with this extra furlong looking ideal. She was keeping on nicely again at Musselburgh last time and in this smaller field should be finishing best under Paul Mulrennan. Little Muddy won over C&D last year and returned with a win at Doncaster last month. She was only denied half a length back up to this trip last time and would have to be feared on recent form. Black Friday does love this track and trip having won 3 times over it in the past but he was below form at Wetherby breaking slowly and needs to bounce back to have a chance. The other pair Gannon Glory and Be Proud look up against it.

I know LIL’ FRANK was a little disappointing when only fourth at Chelmsford on final start as a 2yo but he showed clear promise when third on debut at Doncaster and having been gelded over the winter he could take a big step forward on reappearance. He still retains plenty of potential and looks the most likely winner in this field. Marksman Queen obviously made a bright start winning on debut at Kempton but that was only by a head and the form doesn’t look up to much in my book. She will find this tougher under a penalty. The other one to note and perhaps the main danger is Dubawi colt Elraaed. He’ll need to leave that debut fifth at Ffos Las behind but should do in time and could run a nice race here. Of the rest Savvy Brilliance is noted but he’ll need to improve a fair bit to win this.
