The market will provide some vital clues to the relative merits of the other newcomers including Spanish Flame and Tachos, while Courageous Strike is another to consider as Adrian Murray has a good line on juvenile form with the likes of Bucanero Fuerte. Of those with experience, Thia stepped up from his debut when keeping on into third behind the impressive Democracy at the Curragh last month while Elliptical ran better than his finishing position would suggest on debut last Monday.

CHERRY PINK kept on nicely into third on her handicap debut when third to Doctor Grace at Dundalk and was far from disgraced on her first turf start at Gowran last month. This slightly longer trip should suit. Summer Snow showed promise on testing ground last year but was about six lengths behind the selection when reappearing at Gowran. Master Garvey had Lisieux and Redshore City both behind when placed in sprints at Naas and Sligo this term. He handles testing ground but this longer trip is a concern. Lisieux won on soft ground at Naas last autumn and has dropped back down to a competitive mark.

HOT ROCKET may be able to give weight away all around. He won his maiden on quick ground last year but handled testing conditions well when fourth in a better race at Cork on his seasonal debut. In front a furlong out having travelled smoothly, he ran out of steam close home and can improve with that run under his belt. Navagio finished just ahead of the selection at Cork but couldn't back that up when down the field in a premier handicap at the same venue on Friday. It's interesting to see him turned out again quickly and, having been hooded lately, he's now tried in cheekpieces. Starting Monday, drawn on the inner, is a long time without a win but ran well in first-time headgear when second to a well-treated rival last time. He's another making a quick reappearance and will be well suited by soft ground.

The 103-rated PIVOTAL TRIGGER is hard to oppose and has shown an ability to handle soft ground. A maiden winner on his third start when scoring over 7f at the Galway festival, he was second in a Group 3 at Longchamp when last seen in September. Out of a Galileo mare and related to several middle-distance winners, the step up in trip shouldn't be a problem. Carlo Bianconi started favourite for his debut in a Gowran maiden over just shy of this trip and went down by just a short head having run green when hitting the front early in the straight. The winner bids to enhance that form in a Derby Trial at Leopardstown on Sunday. Head Of State was made favourite but showed little in an all-weather maiden just before Christmas. He has since been gelded and is now tried in a tongue-tie.

MARVELOSA has shown that she's worthy of her mark with a few solid runs in handicaps and this looks like a good opportunity for the daughter of Ribchester. She kept on well when second over an extended 1m2f on testing ground at Sligo last time and has a few decent runs in the book over this trip as well. Banned has the next highest rating and was twice runner-up at Dundalk over the winter. She was second on soft ground when previously trained in Britain. Isotta had a good run on soft at Bellewstown last year and was three lengths in front of Banned when second at Dundalk in February. Queen Of Seduction has a bit to find on ratings but had consistent handicap form over this trip in the autumn and is another who won't mind soft ground.

STAR KISSED doesn't look harshly treated on a mark of 79 for her handicap debut. She won a Bellewstown maiden on heavy ground last month and, afterwards, connections said that black-type would ultimately be the aim. Rattle And Hum is a big threat. This New Bay gelding looked well worth a step up in trip after keeping on well in second over an extended 1m2f at Cork in April. The horse a short head behind him in third came out and won at Sligo. Wayne Hassett's 10lb claim has Rattle And Hum on a very light weight. Scott Lang was only collared in the final 100 yards over 1m5f in Navan. He gets a first-time tongue-strap. In From The Cold and Narlita are others eyeing prize money.

WHISKY ON THE HILL was a comfortable winner in Sligo just over a week ago and gave the impression he would welcome a step up in trip. The handicapper didn't miss that success, but he still remains in the same grade. Notturno was the horse beaten into second in Sligo and, although he was outgunned, he has an 8lb pull in the weights. He is also trying an extended 1m4f for the first time. Unchained Melody has a better chance than her rating suggests. She was well behind the winner in third at Navan, however, the form of that race is working out well. First-time blinkers could eke out more from her. Parish Star could show more after three unplaced runs in maiden company.
