15:45 Chester
I’m really looking forward to seeing Night Of Thunder filly ROYAL DRESS at Chester on Wednesday. She improved to make all at Doncaster on return last month and I loved the way she asserted in the closing stages. That was in soft ground and with showers in the forecast conditions could be perfect here as she bids to follow up. Ryan Moore gets the leg up now and a mark of 80 now handicapping may well prove lenient. California Gem was busy as a 2yo but ran well enough on return to think she could be a player here around this tight track. Lakota Blue left his reappearance run well behind to win at Ripon and given that came in soft ground that form brings him into this as well. Kessaar Power is on a hat-trick but another 4lb rise in a tougher race will definitely demand more.
19:30 Kempton
I can see CLIPSHAM GOLD making it 2 wins from her last 3 starts at Kempton on Wednesday night. This Galileo Gold filly sprung a 20/1 surprise winning on return at Wolverhampton and then was given a bit too much to do when only fourth last time. She wasn’t beaten far on that occasion though and she still has potential to do better again. Hopefully Shalfa and Adela Of Champagne go hard as she will appreciate an end to end gallop and with this smaller field she should be able to take aim in the closing stages. The danger is probably Mogwai who has only had the four starts and is hard to weigh-up on her first start on these shores. Harry Davies has been booked and claims a valuable 3lb but a 15-month absence was just about enough to put me off but she is an interesting runner.
