It was good to see FRENCHY DU LARGE back to form when second at Haydock last month and back down in trip here things could be about to click. He is a horse that has always promised to do better but it is still fairly early days over fences and I think it could pay to keep him on side. He reacted well to first-time cheekpieces last time and if they work again he should have a big chance of going one better against these.

Betty Baloo is a likeable mare who has won two of her last three so she looks the danger but a further 7lb rise asks more questions and she is short enough in the betting. Go On Chez also arrives here in winning form having impressed at Southwell last time but a 6lb higher mark like the latter will demand an even bigger performance from him.
