After a 2/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips from today's action, with all three running at the Chester Festival.
13:30 Chester
This looks a competitive 0-105 handicap but preference goes to REVICH (best priced at 9/2) who has shown lots of good form at Chester. The Richard Spencer trained seven-year-old has form figures of 1531142373 at the course including when 4th in the this race off a mark of 95 in 2021 and 3rd in this race (beaten only ½ length) off a mark of 95 last year.
Revich comes into this race off a mark of 92 this year so he is well handicapped on previous form and he also comes into this race following a 3rd place finish off this mark at Newmarket 20 days ago. He is well drawn in Stall 6 and I expect him to run well with four places on offer.
14:05 Chester
Last year’s winner BARYSHNIKOV (best priced at 9/2) has a good record at Chester and he should hold strong claims off the same mark this year. The David & Nicola Barron trained seven-year-old has form figures of 1141 at the track including a one length victory in this race last year off a mark of 91. Following that victory he went on to finish 3rd at Redcar off a mark of 94 before disappointing at both York and Goodwood on his next two starts.
Baryshnikov disappointed at Doncaster on his reappearance but comes into this race having finished 3rd at Pontefract last time. The return to Chester will suit him and he should run well with Billy Loughnane on board for the first time.
15:15 Chester
Ryan Moore is having a fantastic week at Chester with his rides finishing 112321333 so far and first time booking on 2021 winner FALCON EIGHT (best priced at 7/1) looks significant. The Dermot Weld trained eight-year-old won this race off a mark of 104 in 2021 by two lengths before finishing a five length 5th in the race last year off a mark of 109. He went on to finish only 1 ¾ lengths behind Stratum in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot on his next start before winning the Amateur Riders Derby at the Curragh in October.
Falcon Eight makes his reappearance in this race but he won this following 314 days off the track in 2021 so that shouldn’t be a concern and he should run well with up to six places available.
