I thought SANDALWOOD was a bit unlucky to lose that race at Taunton in the stewards room. For me he dug in gamely and showed a great attitude to come out on top. Either way he is clearly improving and off just a 3lb higher mark looks the one to beat in this. This is just his third start in a handicap so I don’t think the assessor has a handle on him just yet. Brown Bullet has won at this track before and was highly tried at Cheltenham last time. Back up in trip she might emerge as the danger but does have a bit to prove. Perfect Man was a creditable fourth at Southwell but his lengthy losing run is mounting up and that is enough to put me off. Hello Sunshine wasn’t disgraced either when third last time but again needs more to win a race like this and the selection likely has her covered.

I have been waiting for HAUTURIERE to go chasing and I’ll be expecting her to make a winning start at Killarney on Sunday. She progressed nicely over hurdles and was last seen finishing fourth behind Ashroe Diamond at Fairyhouse. She looks to have found a good opportunity here and is very much the one to beat under Paul Townend. Eabha Grace actually beat the selection when they met over hurdles on penultimate start but then pulled up at Fairyhouse in the same race the selection finished fourth in and has work to do now sent chasing. Roseys Hollow fell at Ballinrobe at the start of the month and has a bit to prove following that mishap. The only other conceivable threat is Happy D’ex who has experience on side but she often finds one too good and that would be concerning.
