Steve Ryder is back with three tips from today's action.
15:45 Hamilton
Golden Arrow, Golden Mind and Irish Nectar are all interesting newcomers but preference goes to the more experienced MOONSTONE BOY (best priced at 15/8) who sets the standard on his two runs so far. The Iain Jardine trained two-year-old finished third on his debut at Musselburgh over 5f before finishing 2nd over the same course and distance when only beaten ¾ length on his next start.
Moonstone Boy achieved an RPR of 83 for his previous run which is a solid standard for the newcomers to run to and I expect him to get off the mark at the third attempt.
16:45 Hamilton
This looks a competitive 0-85 handicap but preference goes to last year’s winner CROWN PRINCESS (best priced at 11/1) who runs off a 2lb lower mark this year. The Ollie Pears trained five-year-old won this race last season on his second start of the season following a wind operation over the winter and she has had exactly the same preparation this year. She was beaten four lengths this season at Beverley in comparison to being beaten 3 ¼ lengths last year but she now runs here off a 2lb lower mark this year.
Crown Princess was sent off a relatively unfancied 20/1 shot last year so hopefully the market are underestimating her chances once again and he should run well with up to five places available.
17:15 Hamilton
The Charlie Johnston trained DUTCH DECOY (best priced at 6/1) is 2/2 at Hamilton in his career and hopefully he can record a hat-trick of wins at the venue in this race. The six-year-old won a nursery handicap over 6f here in 2019 off a mark of 75 before winning last year over this course and distance off a mark of 77 by 1 ¾ lengths. He went on to win twice again later in the season at Newmarket off marks of 81 and 87 and he is now back down to his last winning mark.
Oli Stammers has been on board for his previous three victories so the fact he is back on board Dutch Decoy in this race is a positive and he should run well with up to five places available.
