Steve Ryder is back with three tips from today's action.
13:50 Catterick
The Grant Tuer trained DREAMCASTING (best priced at 11/2) has been sent off favourite for his previous four starts but has been hindered by starting slowly. Hopefully the five-year-old can get away on terms and if that is the case then he should have a good chance of winning for the first time.
Dreamcasting finished 3rd by a length at Thirsk in August off a mark of 51 and he races here off a 1lb lower mark. He was only beaten 3 ¾ lengths at Newcastle on his reappearance 10 days ago when losing many lengths at the start but hopefully he will run well under Aiden Brookes in this apprentice handicap with up to four places available.
15:00 Musselburgh
The Jim Goldie trained PRIMOS COMET (best priced at 5/1) has a good record at Musselburgh and hopefully he can reverse form with Havagomecca from 10 days ago. The eight-year-old has won six times over this course and distance including most recently off a mark of 72 in July.
Primo’s Comet finished 3rd over this course and distance in April off a mark of 62 when only beaten 1 ¼ lengths before finishing 2nd by 1 ¼ lengths last time off the same mark. He gets a 5lb swing in the weights with Havagomecca from last time and that will hopefully be enough for him to reverse the form.

This looks a weak 0-70 handicap and preference goes to the Grant Tuer trained LEZARDRIEUX (best priced at 7/2) who finished a good 2nd on his return a week ago. The six-year-old won over this course and distance in September off a mark of 64 and he runs in this race off only a 1lb higher mark.
Lezardrieux was only beaten 1 ¾ lengths when 2nd at Newcastle on his return from 195 days off the track off a mark of 65 and he gets to run here off the same mark. This mark of 65 is only 1lb higher than his previous success and I expect him to prove hard to beat.
