I know we have only seen KING OF THE LAKE run once but such was the promise of that performance I’m confident he can go one better now. He didn’t go unbacked suggesting they think a fair bit of him and he beat all bar the progressive Brentford Hope. The winner made all the running that day and the selection picked up well to pull 17 lengths clear from the rest. The form has been franked with Brentford Hope beating the useful looking Impose Toi next time out at Huntingdon and then performing with credit in the Swinton at Haydock. He is sure to improve from that initial effort and very much looks the one to beat in here. Oakley Dancer is a likeable mare who improved to open her account at Chepstow when last seen. She has been freshened up since and looks the biggest danger.

This looks a weak maiden hurdle so it represents a really good opportunity for MOONSHINE SPIRIT to make the breakthrough. This son of Telescope acquitted himself well in bumpers and has looked a work in progress so far over timber. He lacked fluency when fourth behind Ioupy Collonges at Chepstow back in February and then freshened up ran much better when fifth at Kempton at the start of the month. He was given a lot to do that day and while he was never going the pace of the leaders he did seem to jump better. That form is pretty solid and if he steps forward again he could prove the answer in a winnable contest like this. Trick Of The Tail is bred to be pretty useful but was brought down at the first at Bangor and was lame after. If none the worse here could threaten.
