I was really quite taken with that winning debut from QUEEN FOR YOU and given she holds a Group 1 entry in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot next month connections will be hoping she can keep her unbeaten record in tact here. She is superbly bred being by Kingman out of Fallen For You and quickened up like an exciting prospect to make a perfect start at Ascot at the start of the month. I loved the way she asserted once she realised she was in a race and she will leave that bare form behind now stepping into better company. They will go a good gallop here and I can only see that suiting her better as she seems to have a high cruising speed and is equipped with a smart change of gear so clearly a really promising filly in the making. Silver Lady also overcame greenness to make a winning start at Newmarket last month and with more to come she should threaten.

Kingman colt TONY MONTANA cost Amo Racing 425,000 guineas and he made an eye-catching start to his career going down a little over a length on debut at Salisbury on sole start as a 2yo. He stayed on strongly once the penny had dropped and having been given enough ground to make up I thought that was a really promising initial effort. The third Racingbreaks Ryder has improved to win his next four starts (3-3 this season) so the form certainly has substance. The winner Bluestocking looks an exciting filly for Ralph Beckett and even the fifth Roarin’ Success and eighth Totnes have won since so lots to like. Nathaniel colt Naqeeb shaped with potential when third on debut at Leicester and he has fitness on side so could be the danger in a first-time tongue strap. Dubawi colt Seendid is the most interesting of the debutants so watch the market on that one.
