A case can be made for most of these but marginal preference is for the well-bred STAR GUEST, who broke her maiden over a mile at Lingfield in January and an opening mark of 76 may underestimate the daughter of Dubawi. Maid In London is another unexposed filly to consider, while Icy Dip and Tulekya complete the shortlist.

SPRING DAWN hit the crossbar on her introduction over C&D and Charlie Appleby's filly is highly likely to improve significantly for that outing. If she does take a step forward, it is hard to see the daughter of Kodiac being beaten here. Ludmilla disappointed on her return to action, but showed promise on her only start last year and it is far too soon to be writing her off. Beautiful Summer and English Rose are two well-bred stablemates of the selection to consider on debut, while Al Haan and Platinum Jubilee are others interesting newcomers.

Priscilla's Wish has been in good form lately, with a win and a second at Chelmsford already this season, but she has been put up another 1lb for her last run and will need to improve again. BRASIL POWER signed off his first spell at the Boughey yard with a win at Kempton before heading off to Ireland, and again on his return to the stable when scoring at Wolverhampton. An added 3lb may not stop him following up back on the turf. The consistent Granary Queen rounds out the shortlist.

Appier won last time out at Newcastle and warrants serious consideration, but he does have an added 5lb and might find this grade stretching him, with all six career victories at a lower level. Liseo has yet to finish outside of the first three and is expected to feature again now stepped up in trip after his Beverley second, but preference is for SONNERIE POWER. Third on his return at Leicester on heavy ground, this quicker surface should see him in a better light and after just six starts, he might have more to offer.

Fourth at Kempton in November over a mile, he ought to be far better suited by this trip and a mark of 76 for his handicap debut could prove generous.

ERTEBAT, who overcame a slow start and being short of room when he won on his handicap debut at Pontefract, looks the principal player given the form was franked in good style by the runner-up going in at Hamilton on Sunday. The Hugo Palmer-trained gelding remains on a workable mark, despite running off 5lb higher, and is taken to have too much in the locker for recent Kempton winner Ajjaj and Windsor scorer Hiatus, who rate as the pick of the opposition.
