Persian Dreamer had over three lengths to spare with Dorothy Lawrence at Newmarket last month but, with that experience under her belt, the latter may well get closer this time. However, they both may have their work cut out to stop GOT TO LOVE A GREY, who was a most impressive winner of a novice event at Nottingham on debut and looks an exciting filly for this season. If all goes to plan here, Royal Ascot is likely to be her next target.

Silver Lady won well on debut at Newmarket and two subsequent winners have already come out of that race, so she has to be respected. However, preference is for STORMY SEA, who showed an impressive turn of foot to put her rivals to the sword last time at Haydock. She is a half-sister to Bay Bridge and, with any amount of improvement to come, she merits plenty of respect. Orchid Bloom is another to note.

Nobel could have more to offer this season and he's not one to take lightly now entering handicaps off what looks a fair opening mark. Preference, however, is for C&D winner EEETEE, who bounced back to form with a ready success at Haydock last month. The five-year-old looks more than capable of shrugging off a 4lb rise. Lightening Company also returned to winning ways at Pontefract last month and is another of interest for an in-form yard.

QUICKTHORN (sixth) was well behind Broome (first) when they met in the Dubai Gold Cup in March, but that was the six-year-old's first run of the season so there is every chance he will improve upon that effort. A progressive stayer throughout last season, including a career-best performance when bolting up in the Lonsdale Cup here, he can bounce back to winning ways. Eldar Eldarov may have disappointed when last seen on British Champions Day, but he was a determined winner of the St Leger before that and promises much as a four-year-old. Giavellotto and Siskany are capable of being in the shake-up as well.

Mostabshir arguably sets the standard based on his impressive Kempton win last year and his fifth in the Craven was also promising. That said, Jim Crowley has chosen KATHAB over him and the son of Dark Angel may struggle to give 6lb and a beating to the selection. William Haggas' gelding only found one too good on his debut in the Wood Ditton last month and he is fully entitled to improve for that experience. New Business was only a place back in third on that occasion and is another to note, along with Ziryab.

Mark Walford's string have been in excellent form recently and IT JUST TAKES TIME gets the vote to follow up his Thirsk victory from last week. The 5lb penalty is negated by Jonny Peate's claim and the step back up in trip is unlikely to inconvenience him. Tiempo Star won on his return to action at Chelmsford and may just be the type to kick on after some below-par efforts last season. Titan Rock, No Nay Nicki and Ataser are others worth a place on the shortlist.

A tentative vote goes to SPARTAN ARROW, who could not have won any easier at Brighton last time out, and an opening mark of 82 could greatly underestimate him on his handicap debut. Runner-up on his last two starts, Winter Crown looks very dangerous off a featherweight, while Rhythm N Hooves arrives on the back of a bloodless success at Chelmsford last month. Last-time-out winners Miss Brazen and Tatterstall are others to note, as well as Just A Spark and Thankuappreciate.
