An abundance of potential on show here but the most exciting of them may well prove to be BLUE STORM for James Tate. This colt by Blue Point made a perfect start winning at Newmarket last month and the form has been strongly franked since. The runner-up Cuban Thunder won readily at York, the third Hackman won at Chester and even the fourth Flag Of St George and fifth Yorkshire Terrier won next time out. It really couldn’t have worked out any better and that coupled with the visual impression from that debut win I make him a strong play here despite this looking a good renewal. Havana Grey colt Elite Status looks the danger as the betting is suggesting. He stayed on strongly in testing ground at Doncaster but he will face much different conditions here. On Point is another colt with a bright future judging by his debut win.

Enfjaar made a promising start winning on debut at Newmarket on sole start as a 2yo but we haven’t seen him since and he did have a hood on which might suggest he isn’t massively straightforward. They have discarded it now so he’ll need to settle and something is telling me to take him on. I had LION TAMER down in my notes after that really promising debut run. He found only Village Legend too strong and that colt looks to have a promising future for James Ferguson so I think the form will work out. The third Mr Buster bolted up at Ripon last weekend and the fourth Roarin’ Success has also struck since so it definitely has substance already. The flag start didn’t suit at Lingfield and I think you can put a line through that. He has more to come and if improving again this represents a decent opportunity to make the breakthrough.
