Small fields the story of the day and while they can often prove trappy I do think KOI DODVILLE is the one to beat in this. He is still just a 5yo and he capitalised off a falling mark to get back to winning ways impressively enough at Leicester when last seen back in February. He clearly has a fair bit of ability and if putting in a clean round of jumping he should be hard to beat under Jack Tudor. Jigginstown King clocked a career best winning well at Fakenham and he looks the obvious danger and likely set to go off favourite. Striking A Pose ran poorly at Kempton and that would be concerning even in a first-time tongue strap. Not Another Muddle is the outsider of the field and he certainly isn’t getting any younger.

Eziva is well bred and she will likely be of some interest on debut but I thought STAR GALAXY has shown more than enough to win a maiden like this. This Sea The Stars filly needed the experience on sole start as a 2yo but improved to run well behind subsequent Cheshire Oaks winner Savethelastdance when fourth at Leopardstown. That form has obviously worked out really well and if she improves she looks the most likely winner. Galileo filly High Chieftess built on her debut run to finish fourth at Leopardstown behind Tarawa back in October last year. She is interesting on return and is another one to note. The market will likely prove informative for this so hopefully the selection is well backed in the run up to the race.
