Following a 6/1 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three selections for today's action.
13:50 Haydock
Carzola is respected in his bid for a four-timer but preference instead goes to Law Of The Sea (best priced at 15/8) who ran well on his stable debut for Ian Williams last time. The five-year-old was previously trained by John Gosden when rated as high as 102 before running twice at Meydan for Bhupat Seemar.
Law Of The Sea was sent off an unfancied 40/1 shot for his stable debut in the Chester Cup but outran those odds to finish a close 4th beaten only 1 ¾ lengths at the finish. The handicapper has only raised him 1lb for that effort which is lenient and he should hold strong claims off a mark of 91 with William Buick taking over on board and in an easier race.
15:10 Goodwood
This looks a competitive 0-105 handicap but preference goes to Aggagio (best priced at 15/2) who has a fantastic record at Goodwood. The Gary Moore trained five-year-old has form figures of 11121 at the track including a victory here over 2 miles in September off a mark of 84. He has since won twice over hurdles including a Class 2 handicap at Haydock in April and he should hold strong claims only 49 days later.
Aggagio runs here off a mark of 86 and he looks the obvious each way alternative to Courage Mon Ami who bids to make it 3/3 in his career.
17:35 Salisbury
Archie Watson is having a fantastic start to the season with his two-year-olds with a record of 7 wins from 15 runners in 2023. The favourite Serried Ranks is respected following his victory at Nottingham earlier this month but a 6lb penalty for a victory in a three-runner race could make things more difficult. Preference instead goes to Reveiller (best priced at 4/1) who makes his debut for Archie Watson in this race.
Reveiller cost £50,000 at the sales as a two-year-old and this son of Soldier’s Call is bred to be a smart performer. Luke Morris is a good booking for the yard and hopefully he can make a winning debut in this race.
