GYTO's Monday Notebook Double pays 16/1.

Despite being a bit uneasy in the betting this morning I do like the chances of PEACE MAN at Windsor today. This Kingman colt left previous form behind to win gamely over track and trip earlier in the month. He found plenty off the bridle and was strong at the line. He goes handicapping now off a mark of 86 and if stepping forward again on what is just his fourth run he should serve it up to this field. Paradias is more exposed but he is a decent yardstick who has been gelded now so while his mark does look a little harsh it would be no surprise to see him get seriously competitive. Andaleep outran odds of 40/1 to finish a good third at Newbury last time and if building on that off the same mark he is another one that could get involved as he is also well suited by this track.

I expected Dukeman to be all the rage for this and that is how the market seems to be playing out but I prefer WOOTTON’SUN for Richard Fahey. He won twice last season and beat Haunted Dream at Windsor who we know is a very good yardstick. He ran a very good race on reappearance to finish second at Pontefract last month and with improvement to come off a fair looking mark I can’t see how he doesn’t go close now. I’m surprised he has eased out to 4/1 this morning as that looks a very generous price to me. Dukeman would be the danger but if he disappoints for whatever reason then perhaps Strawman will be the one to ask a few questions. He ran well on reappearance before blowing out at York but he has bounced back quickly in the past so definitely feared here.
