14:50 Redcar

Sir Mark Prescott has had a terrific fortnight or so with 5 winners from 7 runners and he looks to have another intriguing contender at Redcar on Tuesday. PLEDGEOFALLEGIANCE was a work in progress as a 2yo but did show bits and pieces of promise. He stepped up to a mile and a half for his handicap debut on return and somewhat unsurprisingly ran his best race to date finishing second. He goes up in trip again here and looks sure to keep improving as his stamina is drawn out. The first-time cheekpieces go on and I expect him to open his account now. Fair Dinkum is obviously well bred being by Australia and could be the danger but he will need to improve on that run behind a stablemate of the selection in True Legend.

I really liked the way PROTEST RALLY got on top late on at Southwell last time. He found plenty off the bridle and stayed on strongly through the line to lead late. He has only gone up 4lb and given he has only had 4 starts there should be a fair bit more to come yet. The switch back to turf should suit and I can see him going off a fair bit shorter than 11/4 come post time. Mereside Diva is second fav at the time of writing and she could be the danger. I think she is better than what she showed at Hamilton and she should give her running. Al Muzn has only had 3 starts but those last two runs at Lingfield have worked out notably well so while he was well held if he improves now handicapping he is definitely another one worth a look in here.
