Leap Day lets backers down last time so has a bit to prove following that. MAN OF A’AN was denied just a short head at Redcar last time and with further improvement should be able to open his account here. Another yard or so and he would have got up and they came over 2 lengths clear from the third who was in turn 3 lengths clear from the rest. With Leap Day having a few questions to answer it wouldn’t be a great surprise to see Sidney’s Son emerge as the main danger. He went down less than a length at Newcastle last time and with more to come he should be winning sooner rather than later. Bobby’s Blessing makes his debut for Charlie Johnston but unless the market speaks hugely for him I think he will come on for the experience.

Things didn’t work out for SEA GREY at York last time but that was a tough race and he could just never land a blow. I think he is better judged on his reappearance second at Haydock and if he bounces back to that sort of form in this he will take a bit of beating. He is by Ulysses so is obviously bred to be competing at a better level than this and he should come into his own now off what looks a good mark. Where’s Jeff responded well to first-time cheekpieces to win here last time and up 2lb could be the biggest danger. Simple Star was well found in the market to win at Musselburgh last time and a 3lb rise for him looks fair too but I still think if the fav is back to his best he will have them covered as he seems to have the most potential.
