We only saw Galileo colt VAGUELY ROYAL once as a 2yo and he didn’t run badly beaten just 4 lengths int third at Yarmouth. He returned with what I thought was an encouraging run to finish second at Newmarket last month and with further improvement to come looks well placed to go one better and open his account now. The winner last time made all the running and while he was beaten just over 4 lengths he did have the rest 3 and a half lengths back and well strung out. He has been a work in progress and this looks a decent opportunity now. Escarpment caught the eye when second at Newbury on reappearance but failed to back that up at Doncaster last time. If he bounces back he will be the danger though. Wild Hurricane can improve but certainly needs to.

Sir Mark Prescott continues to fire in the winners with 6 from his last 9 and BRAVURA looks worth chancing up significantly in trip for his handicap debut. This son of Saxon Warrior ran behind New Definition at Lingfield on debut last year doing some good late work over an inadequate test. He then got within a length of victory next time just finding the useful Mohatu too strong. That horse went on to win again to frank the form. He wasn’t so good when only sixth behind Imperial Ace and co at Southwell but that was probably with an eye to him getting a mark given he was held up and could never land a blow and improvement can be expected now. New Approach filly Flower Of Dubai looks the danger but she will need to leave that Lingfield run well behind to land a blow in this.
