Clipsham Gold has won 2 of her last 3 now and was firmly in command at Kempton last time. A 5lb rise will definitely ask more of her though and I prefer MOGWAI in opposition. This Dark Angel filly was behind the favourite when third at Kempton last time but that was her first start for some 475 days and she gets a 4lb swing for that now. She will be fitter and she was also slowly into stride last time which wasn’t ideal. They look the pair to focus on but Finery is a fairly decent yardstick who has won fresh in the past so she also needs to be respected off a lower mark back on turf. Eponina loves this C&D having won 3 times over it in the past but she was disappointing at Leicester last time and that would have to be concerning.

This looks a great opportunity for Invincible Spirit colt NARMAR at Listowel on Sunday. He has improved with every run and got within a neck of victory at Killarney when last seen. He raced freely enough but came with a strong challenge to hit the front before being denied right on the jamstick. The winner Just An Hour is a nice progressive colt for Joseph O’Brien and the pair pulled 4 and a half lengths clear from the rest so the form looks rock solid. He will improve again and if settling better should open his account. Sea Gardens ran a cracker on debut as a 2yo but then disappointed somewhat when well blacked at Cork last time and is going to need to get back on track if he is to get the better of the selection in this.
