HEIA should prove hard to beat on her chasing debut if adapting to the larger obstacles. Easily the best of these over hurdles, the Willie Mullins-trained mare ran well at both the Fairyhouse and Punchestown festivals. Still relatively fresh, after just the two starts since last July, the six-year-old has much in her favour here. Return To Base didn't show a great deal in two runs over fences last year but should be capable of better. A winner over hurdles on her most recent start, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare has been found a nice opportunity in this smaller field. Hope Des Blins needs to improve to beat the principals but has plenty of point-to-point and chasing experience which should stand to her in this company.

Course and distance winner RULE OF JUNE should be spot on for this assignment having run a big race on her reappearance when third over hurdles at Punchestown recently. The nine-year-old is now reunited with Sean Flanagan who was in the saddle when she won at this track last August. Golden Glen has to be of interest off a chase mark which is 11lbs lower than her hurdle rating. The mare won her only race to date at this track and has shaped well on a couple of occasions since switching her attention to fences. Significantly, she was very well supported for a similar race at Clonmel in April, a clear indication that connections believe her to be capable of better. Point-to-point winner Bearwithmenow, who ran well on his chasing debut at Tipperary recently, is another with strong claims.

Point-to-point winner THE FOLKES TIARA appears to have been found an ideal opportunity to make the breakthrough under rules. Although yet to get his head in front since switching to the track, the seven-year-old has been placed on six of his nine starts. The form of his recent third placing in a Grade B Handicap Chase at the Punchestown Festival looks particularly strong in the context of this race. Katou has to be respected on her hurling debut but will need to show improvement from her sole start in a Thurles bumper in December. Given connections, there must be every possibility that she is capable of much better than that debut effort. Rule The Wind, a stablemate of the latter, holds claims if reproducing his Tipperary run.

VINTAGE GOLD is one of the more interesting contenders given his lightly raced profile with the possibility of more to come on this handicap debut. Highland Reel has done well with his National Hunt horses in recent seasons and this four-year-old son of the Coolmore stallion has already shown ability on the flat. While the John Joseph Murphy-trained gelding will need to step up significantly on three moderate runs in maidens, this is more his level. Maggie Walsh is now just 1lb higher than when winning at Fairyhouse in January, so holds obvious claims under leading conditional Cian Quirke. Cracklinrose has yet to win from 10 starts but is a largely consistent mare who will eventually get her turn.

CALAZURE shaped well enough when fourth at Downpatrick in April to suggest a race of this nature is within his grasp. The Noel Meade-trained gelding stepped up significantly on his two previous starts and if he can find further improvement then he will take plenty of beating in this ordinary contest. Jimmy Boy has the highest official rating of those to have attained a mark but looks vulnerable to a lighter raced rival. Having said that, his experience could count for plenty in a race where few have any really solid form. Be Fierce could get involved if a first-time tongue tie has the desired effect. The Ted Walsh-trained gelding ran well when fourth at Kilbeggan recently.

Plenty in with chances in a competitive heat but perhaps MISTER TWIST can get his turn after a string of consistent efforts. Philip Fenton's charge was only beaten a length when second at Kilbeggan in April and was nearest at the finish when third over 2m3f at Downpatrick last time. He'll handle the good ground and may appreciate the step up in trip. The locally-trained Doyouthinkso won over 2m at this venue last year and was fourth off this mark here in April. He has since finished second over 1m5f on the level at Navan and has good prospects of staying this trip on good ground. Natural Look hasn't been seen since October but has to enter calculations. She was placed twice here last year before winning over 2m4f at Gowran and lost nothing in defeat at Thurles when second to a mare that went on to win her next three races.

VADSA QUEEN was only fifth when odds-on at Ballinrobe just over a year ago, but was too keen on that occasion and a repeat of her debut second at the Punchestown Festival would make her very hard to beat. She was a place ahead of a horse now rated 130 over hurdles on that occasion and that was on a sound surface. Russellsbelle was second in a summer bumper at Wexford last year and filled the same position in a maiden hurdle at Tipperary when returning from a layoff. Her race fitness will stand to her. Royal Hollow is the most interesting of the newcomers. The homebred daughter of Beat Hollow is a half-sister to stablemate Smooth Tom, who is now rated 96 on the Flat after winning at Leopardstown and narrowly failing to follow up at the Curragh last weekend.
