Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for GOLD MEDAL at Lingfield last time and I fully expect him to resume his progress here. Prior to that blip he won going away at Lingfield and looked a sprinter firmly on the upgrade. The majority of these have something to prove so even as favourite at the time of writing I think he is good value to make it 3 wins from his last 4 starts. Vespasian ran a cracker when second to the progressive Great State at Thirsk but wasn’t at his best last time. If he gets back to that form on his penultimate start then he will emerge as the danger. Twilight Madness had excuses at Newbury and didn’t run too badly before that and he’d have to be another one of interest if everything dropped right for him.
