Following an 11/10 winner yesterday, Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action at Leicester.
15:00 Leicester
Both Shazam and Jimmy Mark come into this race having won last time out but preference instead goes to Midsummer Dance (best priced at 7/1) who makes his handicap debut on his first start for Harry Eustace. The three-year-old showed some promise earlier this year in three maiden/novice runs for John and Thady Gosden on the AW.
Midsummer Dance has since moved to Harry Eustace and now makes his handicap debut off a lowly opening mark of 62. It will be interesting to see how he goes on his turf debut and I am willing to take a chance off this opening mark.
15:30 Leicester
The Michael Bell trained Maxi Boy (best priced at 10/1) was a high class two-year-old rated 101 following his run in the Superlative Stakes in 2019 and it is interesting that Amo Racing have kept the faith in him having been off the track since September 2021. The lightly raced six-year-old finished 2nd at Newmarket in August 2021 off a mark of 89 before finishing 3rd on his next start off the same mark.
Maxi Boy finished 2nd by ½ length on his final start in 2021 off a mark of 88 and the handicapper has given him a chance on his return from 630 days off the track by letting him race off a mark of 87. Oisin Murphy is a positive jockey booking and he looks worth taking a chance on at a double figure price on his first run since being gelded.

This looks a competitive 0-80 handicap but preference goes to the Sir Mark Prescott trained Brave Knight (best priced at 9/4) who made a winning handicap debut last time at Windsor. The three-year-old showed very little on his first two starts at Kempton and Chelmsford before defying odds of 50/1 to finish 4th at Wolverhampton in September.
Brave Knight made a winning reappearance on his handicap debut off a mark of 73 when stepped up in trip to 1m4f for the first time when he beat Bulldog Spirit by ½ length. The runner-up has since boosted that form by winning at Doncaster on his next start (now 3lbs higher) and he should hold strong claims off a 5lb higher mark.
