Beaten just a length on debut TOCA MADERA could easily improve enough to take this out. This son of Bated Breath broke well enough at Bath first time out and secured a good position up the rail in third. Inexperience likely cost him though as once asked to pick up he struggled to find a gap and had to switch right around the leaders before running on. The penny seemed to drop late and he came home really well so with that under his belt I’m expecting him to be a lot sharper now. He looks above average so as long as none of the debutants are useful he should open his account with Kieran Shoemark in the saddle now. Profitable colt Revenue won on debut and then wasn’t disgraced at Windsor so could easily be the danger if back to his best.

I’m really keen on FOX VISION here as I don’t think he has done much wrong at all. This son of New Approach has only had the 4 starts and is yet to run a bad race. His form figures of 3322 suggest he will be winning soon and now handicapping he looks set to make the breakthrough. He ran on quite well at Ripon on return but the winner Kardia made all the running and was unchallenged. He should come on for that and back down in trip has plenty going for him off a mark of just 77. Al Alaali has also been performing to a decent level and now gelded could improve again so looks the danger. Muhaarar colt Pjanoo was highly tried as a 2yo so shouldn’t be discounted now going up in trip for his handicap debut and is another one to note in this.
