Trainer Ollie Sangster saddled his first winner with THE THUNDERER at Wolverhampton back in April and it must have been a rollercoaster of emotions watching that. This son of Gleneagles was settled last of all by Connor Planas and I thought he gave it a peach waiting until they kicked off the front before producing him. He was blocked a couple of times but did eventually see daylight and picked up strongly. He is 5lb higher back on turf but if running to that sort of level again should go close.

I wouldn’t want to see him give too much ground away out the stalls so hopefully he gets a better break. Age Of Sail was tough off the front to win smartly at Chepstow last time and looks the biggest danger carrying a penalty. Later Darling is another one on the up and is also respected.
