This race has produced 16/1 and 7/1 winners in two of the last three years so it may pay to look away from the top of the betting. I quite like THE WHIPMASTER getting back to his best here at a price. He was hugely progressive last season winning four in a row and one of those victories came over C&D. He lost his way up in the weights after that but I thought he shaped better than the bare result following a wind op at Newbury on return.

He looked like he needed that run and he wasn’t given a hard time. Down a further couple of pounds and back at a track we know he can run well at I think he’ll be a lot sharper now and could outrun his odds. Noble Masquerade also likes this track and trip and was only beaten a length here last time so is a big player off the back of that. Party Island ties in with that form so is another one with a chance.
