This might not take a great deal of winning so I make STAY SMART a strong play to follow up that C&D win eight days ago. He certainly wasn’t winning out of turn having finished runner-up twice before getting back in the winners enclosure last time. It was a very good effort seeing as he was awkwardly away and I loved his attitude in the closing stages. One Last Hug who he beat a head last time runs again here and is probably just about the biggest danger once more.

High Security was a good third at Nottingham nine days ago and down 1lb from that is another one entitled to run a solid race. He doesn’t win too often though and did look a little one paced last time. Of the rest Mereside Angel is also consistent and certainly didn’t run badly behind Brian The Snail last time so is also respected.
