The well bred SHAGPYLE made a really promising start winning on debut at Ascot. She is a half-sister to Pyleriver and she didn’t go off unbacked on debut. I loved the way she travelled into the race and once angled out was always getting on top to win well. She goes up in trip here and is open to plenty of improvement so looks a good bet to make it a perfect 2-2. Sea The Stars filly Truthful also made a perfect start winning on debut at Salisbury and looks the obvious danger.

She only prevailed by a head but the way she stayed on she should also enjoy this trip now so also has a bright future. I expect that pair to battle it out but of the rest Montevideo is also open to improvement up in distance and could also get competitive for a long way.

With further improvement to come LAN CINNTE looks ready to open her account now. She hasn’t done a lot wrong in four starts to date and beat all bar an Aidan O’Brien hotpot at Naas last time. The mile looked to bring out the best in her and if building on that will be extremely hard to beat in this. The yard are going great guns with a 25% strike rate in the past fortnight so that would have to be another notable positive.

Livio Milo has also achieved a decent level of form and looks to be the biggest danger. The cheekpieces are back on and if he improves he should ask a few questions of the selection. City Exile was beaten less than a length at Tipperary last time and if you take out that Leopardstown run has been really consistent so also has a squeak.
