GYTO's Monday Notebook Double pays 10/1.

This is a good race for a Monday and I think SEA THE CASPER can give weight and a beating to his rivals here. This son of Sea The Stars won 3 of his first 4 starts as a 3yo and the form of his last two starts chasing home Just Fine at Leicester and then Belloccio at Kempton looks very solid. He is off the same mark on reappearance and is clearly a horse to catch fresh so I don’t think they’ll be any excuses here. He has potential to rate higher yet and I think is worth keeping on side for now. Paris Lights looked promising winning at this track last year and struggled on fast ground at York last month so could bounce back and run well. I think a bigger danger is probably One Night Thunder who wasn’t disgraced behind Cicero’s Gift at Goodwood and then bumped into a nice colt at Nottingham last time.

Laura Pearson continues to impress me in the saddle and she gets the leg up on METABOLT again following that promising effort at Haydock last month. He ended up winning it in the stewards room having been denied a run and then hampered in the closing stages. That was just his third start in a handicap so he looks to be ahead of his mark currently. The horse that was demoted Liamarty Dreams has won since and held his form well so the form has substance. He is open to further improvement after just 6 starts and I think he looks the most likely winner in this field as long as he gets a clear run through this time. Wilkins represents an in-form yard and his Pontefract win last season was promising. He ran well fresh last year so if fit and ready to fire looks to be the biggest danger to the selection.
