Royal Ascot 2023: Tuesday's 27/1 Most Backed Treble

The most backed horse for Day 1 of Royal Ascot 2023 is the three-time Grade 1 winning hurdler VAUBAN, trained by Willie Mullins.

The five-year-old was beaten three lengths by State Man in his most recent outing at Punchestown. Before that, he finished 4th in Constitution Hill’s Champion Hurdle procession at Cheltenham.

Vauban has accounted for a huge 34.5% of bets on the Copper Horse Handicap at 18:10 since final declarations for the day’s racing were made on Sunday.

The second most backed horse for Day 1 of Royal Ascot 2023 is the four-year-old INSPIRAL, trained by John and Thady Gosden.

It is the first of many big chances across the week for legendary jockey Frankie Dettori in his farewell outing at the Royal Meeting.

Inspiral is rated just a pound lower than the favourite Modern Games and will receive weight from Charlie Appleby’s charge, which could prove crucial. 

She was last seen finishing sixth in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes over course-and-distance. However, she could just as easily be judged on her impressive win by more than four lengths in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at this meeting 12 months ago. 

More than 25% of the bets on the Queen Anne Stakes (14:30) have gone the way of Inspiral.

And we're back to the Closutton handler Mullins to complete our most backed treble for what promises to be an entertaining Day 1 at Royal Ascot 2023.

BRING ON THE NIGHT has not been seen since being beaten three-quarters of a length in the same race last year by one of the Ascot Gold Cup favourites Coltrane.

At the time of writing, the six-year-old is the 9/4 favourite for the Ascot Stakes, won by Mullins on four previous occasions, starting with Simenon in 2012.
