Pour Moi filly POURQUOI looked unlucky on debut to go down just half a length. She showed clear signs of inexperience early slowly into stride and outpaced but I like the way she moved through the race and once she went up through the gears the penny really started to drop. The winner got first run and she flew home after that. The front pair came 3 and a half lengths clear from a well strung out field in behind. She will be a lot sharper this time around and I’ll be surprised if she doesn’t go one better. Huda Star ran well to finish fourth at Lingfield behind the horse that beat the selection so on collateral form has ground to make up but does look the danger. Paradise Row should have more to come as she gains experience and is another one to note. I think this race could work out well going forward.

I have been really impressed with TORITO so far and I think this colt can improve again to win this. He has won 2 from 3 this season and this Kingman colt looked firmly in control winning at Epsom at the start of the month. I quite liked the third Balance Play so I think that form will work out nicely in time. Even the fifth Promoter is one to look out for on softer ground. He steps into Group company now and with Benoit De La Sayette in the saddle he is going to run big in this. Stablemate Epictetus has Dettori on and may even be the one to give him most to think about. My issue with him is he had a hard enough race behind Ace Impact in France and that just about put me off but he obviously has the form in the book. Waipiro is quite a big price as the way he has shaped the last twice he should relish dropping back to 1m2f.
