GYTO Friday Notebook Double

After going down just a length on debut it was good to see FLYING FRONTIER confirm that initial promise by opening his account at Carlisle at the start of the month. He stumbled late on but was in command at the top and won by a couple of lengths with the field well strung out. This is tougher but up a furlong in trip he could easily improve again and I think he is a colt to keep on side for now. Liseo was well backed on reappearance at Beverley but found Sea Flawless too strong. He was then thrown in at the deep end at Newmarket where he finished last but at least shaped better when third at Lingfield. If building on that might be the danger but he is becoming expensive to follow. Iron Lion was second to the selection last time and it wouldn’t be a big surprise to see him do that again.

There is some good racing at Goodwood on Friday night and Muhaarar filly ALBA LONGA catches the eye. She clocked a career best to make a winning handicap debut at Windsor last month and the way she hit the line suggests she has stamina in abundance. She will encounter different ground here but up just 6lb still looks very well handicapped to me and is worth chancing. Golden Horn filly Divina Grace showed a good attitude to get on top at Chepstow last time and looks the danger as long as they go an end to end gallop. Sovereign Spirit has won 2 of his last 3 now albeit just by a short head at Beverley last time but he could easily run his race again so he shouldn’t be completely dismissed. It’s All About You should do better in time as well so is another one to look out for in here.
