Expensive Dark Angel colt BRAVE EMPIRE left his debut run behind to open his account up to this trip for the first time at Windsor at the start of the month. He didn’t go unbacked that day and ran on strongly in the closing stages to win gamely in the end. The runner-up Boyfriend really got going late and was a big eye-catcher so I think the form will work out well in time as the third Matnookh also hit his stride late and might be a colt to follow for Richard Fahey being by Sea The Stars. The selection should improve again and is well placed to make it 2 wins from 3 starts here. Blue Point colt Indivar ran a promising race on debut and with natural improvement could be the one to give the selection most to think about. Invincible Army colt Destiny Maker looks the most interesting of the debutants so worth a market check.

Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore love the Chesham having won 2 of the last 3 renewals with Battleground and Point Lonsdale. They are represented by the exciting PEARLS AND RUBIES this time around and this No Nay Never filly created a big impression to score on debut at Navan by a neck. She beat I Am Invictus who was third behind stablemate River Tiber on debut so that collateral form is very strong. The front pair came readily clear from the rest and with improvement expected now she may well prove up to this task. She is bred to be smart and she is likely to relish this step up to 7f for the first time too. Amo Racing have two in here with La Guarida probably their best hope. She left her debut run behind to win readily at Goodwood and with potential to do better again should run well. Aidan O’Brien also has Content who could also get competitive.
