Both Golden Trick and Beyond Borders are respected newcomers but I would be disappointed if JEHANGEER (best priced at 10/11) cannot get off the mark at the second attempt. The Kevin Ryan trained colt finished 2nd on his debut over this course and distance behind Army Ethos and the form of that run has been boosted since. 

Army Ethos went on to finished a neck 2nd behind River Tiber in the Group 2 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and despite finishing 3 ¼ lengths behind his rival that day, he showed inexperience before staying on well at the finish. A repeat of that run should be enough to win this and I expect Jehangeer to go one better.

The Roger Varian trained OLIVIA MARALDA (best priced at 6/1) was an impressive winner of the listed Scurry Stakes at Epsom last time and she should hold strong claims in this race. She had previously finished a ¾ length 2nd behind Meditate in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes last season before not staying on soft ground in the 1000 Guineas on her first attempt over a mile. 

Olivia Maralda win easily at Epsom last time by 2 ½ lengths when she looked to relish the good to firm ground. With bookmakers offering up to six places on the race, she looks sure to involved in the finish with her rating of 109 and her sex allowance.

Many favourite backers were disappointed with the ride that Jim Crowley gave to KHANJAR (best priced at 11/1) last time at Hamilton but it should be a blessing in this race with him able to run off the same mark. The William Haggas trained four-year-old won a novice race over this course and distance as a two-year-old before winning at both Ripon and Haydock last year. 

Khanjar was only beaten 4 ½ lengths on his reappearance at York before finishing 2nd last time at Hamilton when only beaten a length at the finish. The handicapper has raised him 2lbs for that effort up to a mark of 99 but he instead runs here off a mark of 97 meaning that he is 2lbs “well in” at the weights and I expect him to run well in first time cheekpieces.
