BERGENTOWN (best priced at 2/1) is the only recent winner in the field and he is expected to follow up his recent success at Bangor. The six-year-old was making his first start for Jennie Candlish since leaving Philip Fenton where he won comfortably by two lengths at the finish off a mark of 85.

Bergentown only needed to be nudged out at the finish to win by two lengths and a 5lb rise from the handicapper could underestimate him now he has recorded his first career success. Lewis Stones is one of the best conditional jockeys in the race and I expect him to prove hard to beat.

Bergentown - 1pt @ 2/1

The George Bewley trained FOLLOW YOUR ARROW (best priced at 10/3) has a good record at Hexham and he is expected to run well again back at this course. The seven-year-old has form figures at Hexham of 3431422 in his career with his success coming over this course and distance in June last year off a mark of 100.

Follow Your Arrow finished 2nd over this course and distance in May off this mark of 101 and he should hold strong claims back at this venue off the same mark.

Follow your arrow - 1pt @ 10/3

Caius Chorister steps back into stakes company following a couple of good runs in handicaps but LUISA CASATI (best priced at 4/1) sets the standard in this race in my opinion. The Tom Ward trained five-year-old is top rated with an official mark of 105 and she should prove hard to beat if running up to that rating in this race.

Luisa Casati was last seen winning a listed race at Goodwood last month where she stayed on well over the 1m4f trip to win by a length. She has a 3lb penalty for that success but is still clear on adjusted ratings and I expect her to prove hard to beat.
