Laura Pearson is such good value for her 3lb claim and David Loughnane has booked her for the ride on ALL IS FAIR at Carlisle on Wednesday. This colt was sent off at 11/1 on debut at Haydock and given he was slowly into stride he ran on really well in the closing stages to finish a never nearer third. He will know a lot more this time around and I think they have found the right race for him to go a couple of places better. Lochaber needed his debut run when only fourth at Musselburgh but improved to go close at Thirsk. With more to come he is the biggest danger in here. Chumbaa has had plenty of chances already and connections reach for cheekpieces now but I fancy something to improve past her. Due For Luck the most interesting of the two debutants.

Krona arrives here chasing a hat-trick of wins but both of those victories came on the AW and she might need more back on turf off a whopping 10lb higher mark. I really like MAASAI MARA for John and Thady Gosden. This son of Roaring Lion bumped into Tagabawa on handicap debut before improving to win at Ascot last month. He went up 4lb for that and then ran a big race in defeat behind Torito at Epsom. That race is working out well and with the promise of more to come I think he can get back to winning ways here. If Krona does blow out Nader King might be the biggest danger to the selection. He is by Camelot so should appreciate going up in trip and should build on that third at Newbury last time. Baltic Voyage will strip fitter and is another one in with a chance.
